UFC star Conor McGregor will regret his sexual assault verdict

UFC star Conor McGregor will regret his sexual assault verdict

Conor McGregor has issued a blanket statement following his civil court defeat in which a jury found the Irish UFC star responsible for the December 2018 sexual assault of a woman named Nikita Hand.

As a result of the court’s ruling, the UFC multimillionaire was ordered to pay PLN 250,000. dollars. McGregor denies the rape allegations, testifying that years ago he and Hand had consensual sex in a Dublin hotel during a cocaine night.

Hand spoke to the media after her civil court victory, while McGregor made his way through the storm of cameras, refusing to comment on the verdict.

Conor McGregor releases statement after UFC star found responsible in sexual assault case

In the days that followed, we saw some social media activity from McGregor – a few tweets and deletions here and there about the validity of Hand’s rape accusations. On Monday, the former world champion released another statement regarding what went wrong on the night of December 9, 2018.

“People want to hear about me, I needed time,” McGregor wrote on X. “I know I made mistakes. Six years ago I should never have responded to her requests. I should have shut down the party. I never should have thrown myself at the woman I love most in the world. It’s all my fault.

McGregor’s fiancée is Dee Devlin. The couple has four children and has been together since before McGregor entered the UFC octagon, and she was on the court alongside the Irishman on Friday.

“Although I deeply regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual and all witnesses present swore to it under oath. I have instructed my legal team to appeal this decision.”

“I can’t go back and I’m going to move forward,” said McGregor, who has been sidelined for the past three years due to (among other things) injuries. “I am extremely grateful to my family, friends and fans around the world who stood by me.”

“That’s all. Never again. We’re going back to the gym – the fight awaits!

A broken toe ruled Conor McGregor out of his scheduled return to UFC 303 earlier this year, and he had to withdraw from his long-awaited fight with Michael Chandler. It’s still unclear when we’ll see “The Notorious” re-emerge in the UFC octagon, especially in light of the recent controversy.
