A man arrested in Ithaca on assault and other charges threatened the victim with an axe

ITHACA (WBNG) – Ithaca police on Monday announced the arrest of a man following a report of domestic violence.

The Ithaca Police Department said it arrested Cameron McCaffery on two counts of assault, false imprisonment, unlawful possession of a weapon and menacing.

According to the department, on Nov. 24, officers responded to 118 East Green Street for reports of a physical dispute at 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers stated they located the victim, who stated that McCaffery had attacked and threatened him with an axe.

McCaffery was on scene and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Tompkins County Jail without bail.

McCaffery is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
