“What’s going on, gang? I just wanted to stop by because the word has spread, I’ve been getting a lot of texts and calls. I love you, thank you all for contacting and visiting,” Bissonnette said. “I just wanted to refer to what happened last night, so you can hear it from my mouth. I don’t know what it’s about, I know there are some articles out and there’s news circulating.”

He says the full story will be told on the Nov. 26 episode of the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast because Monday was taping day.

“Honestly, it was nice to jump in with the guys and have a laugh and forget about it for four hours,” he said.

He summarized what happened by saying he goes to the Houston restaurant three to four times a week. He didn’t stop at replenishing staff and food.

“The bar where I usually sit was full of people. I was sitting in the dining room and at one point there was a bit of a commotion in the bar. There was a bunch of drunk golfers there. Of course, things escalated. They asked one guy to leave and then one of them kept getting in the manager’s face and putting his hands on him,” Bissonnette said.

This went on for at least 30 seconds before the former NHL player intervened. He says he grabbed the guy who was sitting on the manager’s seat by the arm and said, “Sir, if you keep harassing and attacking the staff, we’re going to have problems. They just started giggling.”

He says the incident quickly escalated and ended in a CVS parking lot.

“I got knocked down a few times,” he said. “Fortunately, I didn’t lose consciousness. I went to the hospital, so everyone is probably reading about it.”

He calls the suspects “bad guys” who were “way too drunk.” He says he is angry and wants the names of the suspects released.

“Unacceptable behavior in a family restaurant just because they couldn’t have another cocktail and didn’t want to hear ‘no’ for an answer,” he continued.

He says he wants to thank the restaurant staff, Scottsdale Police officers, paramedics and hospital staff.

“It’s okay guys, this sucks,” he said. – It could have been a lot worse.

Although Bissonnette says there were seven men involved in the fight, Scottsdale police say there were six.
