Popular YouTuber couple found dead in their home, police suspect suicide | Latest India News

Popular YouTube couple Priya (37) and her husband Selvaraj (45) were found dead by their son on Saturday evening at their Cheruvarakonam house in Parassala, Kerala. The Kerala Police They are investigating the case, suspecting it to be a case of death by suicide.

The couple known for their YouTube channelThe Sellu family‘, which has 18,000 subscribers and over 1,400 videos, mostly featuring Priya’s cooking content, last uploaded the 55-second photo montage on Friday evening. The soundtrack of the film ‘Vida Parayukayaanen Janmam’ describes the final journey towards death, raising fears that Priya may have hinted at their intentions.

Their son, a home health nurse intern, found the bodies after returning home late Saturday evening. According to reports, Selvaraj was found hanged and Priya’s body was found on the bed. Preliminary findings indicate that the death could have occurred two days earlier.

Locals express concern

Residents expressed concerns about the mysterious circumstances surrounding the deaths, suggesting that there may be more events leading to their suicide, Matrubhumi reports. Neighbors described the couple as reserved, with minimal interactions with villagers.

“I barely saw any guests, except Priya’s mother and their children, who were also quite reserved. Priya’s daughter got married last year. We were invited to the wedding, but even then we hardly spoke to each other,” a neighbor told Manorama Online.

Active on YouTube, but not in real life

The report added that Priya was earlier active in Kudumbashree initiatives but has since discontinued her involvement. Selvaraj, who worked as a bricklayer, maintained a small social circle and a relatively low profile in the community, rarely interacting with neighboring residents.

Authorities revealed that the couple faced financial difficulties after their daughter’s wedding last year. Selvaraj, a mason, and Priya, earlier involved in Kudumbashree, moved to Parassala five years ago.
