(TMX) – A woman faces charges for allegedly punching Santa Claus for blocking her view during the Ontario Christmas Parade on Saturday, police said.

Police in St. Thomas said the dispute occurred between spectators during the 38th annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday evening in St. Thomas. Thomas, about 185 miles northeast of Detroit.

The 62-year-old woman, whose name was not released by police, allegedly got into an argument with another spectator dressed as Santa Claus for allegedly blocking her family’s view of the parade.

“The perpetrator hit the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground,” police said.

The woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters and released with a future court date.

The theme of this year’s parade, sponsored by the Optimist Club of St. Tomasz, there was “Christmas at the Circus”.
