The crash causes a 20-mile temporary backup on I-17 near Black Canyon City

BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A multi-vehicle crash on I-17 near Black Canyon City caused miles of traffic disruption that lasted for hours.

The southbound lane was completely closed when the accident occurred.

At 4 p.m., DPS provided an update showing that the southbound right lane was open. The southbound left lane reopened several hours later at 9 p.m

According to DPS, the people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
