Bukeko, who died of Covid-19 in 2020, he headlined local show Papa Shirandula and his death shocked many Kenyans.

How the death of Charles Bukeko affected Naliaka

Daisy played the role of Bukeko and Wilbroda’s daughter; where she was known as Naliaka.

During an interview on the A Woman’s Journal podcast, Daisy fought back tears as she recalled how hard she prayed and hoped that Bukeko would emerge from the mortuary.

She said:

“One thing people may not know is that he wasn’t just a father on the show; he was like a real father and mentor to me. He played a very big role in my life. We talked and everything was fine, so his death was a great shock to us. It can’t be true unless something happens. I couldn’t even sleep at night. I spent a lot of time crying.”

Daisy also noticed that they were very close and admired how Bukeko respected his family so much.

“He talked a lot about his family. “He kept telling me to just keep my family off social media, support them and just love my kids,” she added.

How Wilbroda mourned Bukeko

Jacquey Nyaminde, popularly known as Wilbroda, paid a dazzling tribute to her on-screen husband Papa Shirandula.

He speaks in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke at the Pride Inn Azure hotel during Papa Shirandula’s first anniversary, Wilbroda said that he is a great actor and a perfectionist.

She then revealed that Papa died after filming five episodes of his new show Mzee ni Wewe, which was never aired.
