A man injured in a shooting in Goldsboro has died at a Greenville hospital

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Police say a man who was shot Saturday night in Goldsboro has died.

Goldsboro police say they learned from ECU Health in Greenville that 26-year-old Daquan Simms died Sunday at the hospital.

Police say Simms was found with multiple gunshot wounds after he responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 800 Newsome Street.

He was taken to UNC Health and then airlifted to ECU Health.

Police say the case is currently being investigated as a murder.
