Burglary at two warehouses in Dilworth

DILWORTH, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Dilworth Police are investigating after receiving two reports of break-ins at a warehouse.

Police say both burglaries occurred at Close to Home Self-Storage located at 215, 7th St. NE in Dilworth. The first report was received on October 13 and the second on October 25. Officers say that in both burglaries, locks were cut and removed and items were stolen.

Police also say they conduct routine building inspections at the warehouse and document anything unusual that can later be checked in the event of a break-in.

The Dilworth Police Department spoke with the company and they say the lock they recommend to help users best avoid burglary is a disc padlock.

Dilworth Police say this is an active investigation as officers wait for surveillance footage from the business.
