FORREST COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – Two people are recovering after a crash in Forrest County early Sunday morning.

According to the North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department, units responded just after 1:30 a.m. to the area of ​​Interstate 59 North at mile marker 70 for a report of a single-vehicle rollover with a possible entrapment.

North Forrest VFD Chief Brandon Odom said units found a silver passenger car on the driver’s side about 50 feet from the shoulder of the highway. Both the driver and passenger were trapped inside.

Firefighters managed to extricate the driver and passenger after removing the front and rear windows.

According to Odom, both people escaped with minor injuries and were taken from the scene by ambulance.

Odom said units of the Macedonian Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the crash.
