Two women are dead following a murder-suicide in southwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Two women were found dead after an apparent murder-suicide in southwest Bakersfield early Sunday morning.

The Bakersfield Police Department reported that on October 27, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., officers were called to the 7500 block of Lordsburg Drive, near Gosford Road and White Lane, after receiving a request for a resident’s well-being check.

When officers arrived, they found two bodies in the house. Both identified as women.

Robbery/Homicide detectives arrived on scene and took over the investigation.

Bakersfield police said a preliminary investigation leads investigators to believe it was a murder-suicide.
