A Gainesville man died in a motorcycle crash on I-35

GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) – The Texas Department of Public Safety announced Monday that a Gainesville man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 35 last week.

Troopers said Dean Cornelius, 30, was driving at a high rate of speed on northbound I-35 near Lone Oak Road in Cooke County just after 9 p.m. Wednesday when he struck the rear of a northbound 18-wheeler.

Cornelius was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Officers said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
