Pleasant Valley assault suspect in armed standoff with sheriff’s office

PLEASANT VALLEY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said an armed and barricaded domestic violence suspect was involved in a fight Monday night.

Authorities said they were called to the 7100 block of Fulton Road in Pleasant Valley, Missouri, around 6:19 p.m. Monday.

When Claycomo police officers arrived, the woman police marked as the victim had left the home with her children. She told CPD and Pleasant Valley police officers that she was attacked at home by a man who was inside the home armed with a gun.

Police said he refused to leave the home and officers requested assistance from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, the victim did not suffer serious injuries as a result of the attack.

Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they were still trying to determine if there were other people in the home. Neighboring houses were evacuated.

Residents of nearby streets are asked to avoid the area.
