San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk published a video on Monday on his YouTube channel, where he reports on his rehabilitation after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL and MCL) last Sunday in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I’m here to give you all a quick update on the week that involved a torn ACL, MCL and torn meniscus,” Aiyuk said on Monday (0:27). I’m trying to walk a little today, I’m lifting a little today, a little bit. But I’m still afraid of gaining weight.

“Long week. We have a long way to go, but we are still blessed, we are still here.”

Aiyuk was injured during the 49ers’ 28-18 loss in Week 7 at Levi’s Stadium after catching a 15-yard pass from quarterback Brock Purdy and taking a hard hit to the knee from Chiefs safety Chamorri Conner.

Before his injury, Aiyuk had accumulated 374 yards on 25 receptions this season and had no touchdowns for the 49ers.

With surgery on the horizon, Aiyuk will face a significant rehabilitation process in the coming months.

“I have another week of treatment behind me and another week of trying to recover,” Aiyuk said. “Surgery soon. But we’ll keep grinding, man.”

The 49ers will be without Aiyuk for the rest of the season, and another player will be added to the injured reserve list.

The team enters the bye week after defeating the Dallas Cowboys 30-24.
