Kerala court slams PP Divya; she claims that she came to the event uninvited with the intention of insulting ADM

ADM Naveen Babu was found dead in his house the next morning after a farewell ceremony organized on the eve of his transfer to another district. During the farewell party, Divya publicly accused Babu of bribery.

In his own the order was placed earlier today while denying early bail to Divya, the Thalassery Sessions Court observed that Divya, being a public servant, should have approached the appropriate authorities instead of publicly leveling allegations of corruption against a public servant.

We have all the machinery and authorities in this country to deal with such cases. No one is expected to take the law into their own hands. A public official like the petitioner, who has vast experience, would be expected to approach the appropriate forum or body. Instead of doing this, under the guise of fighting corruption, she committed the alleged act, a pre-planned and premeditated intention to insult the deceased“- ruled the Tribunal.

The tribunal also noted that Divya allegedly went to the farewell party uninvited and invited media representatives to record it and then disseminate it on social media.

“She decided to humiliate and insult the deceased in the presence of his superior and subordinates. Her speech was recorded by a local TV station and the video was even sent to Pathanamthitta, the deceased’s native place”, stated the Court.
