Gulfport police say a man has been arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal crash

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – Gulfport police located and arrested Laquent Dehayt Quinn on Monday evening.

Police were searching for Quinn after they believed he left the scene of a fatal crash.

On October 26 at 3:05 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Courthouse Road.

When officers arrived, they found one person dead and another person taken to a local hospital.

Detectives identified Quinn as the driver of a vehicle that failed to stop at a traffic light near the intersection, causing the crash.

Police say after the crash, Quinn exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Quinn was charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
