A Manor High School student was fatally stabbed

AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) – Manor Senior High School in Austin was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after a student was fatally stabbed by another student on Oct. 29. The case was reported by CBS Austin.

The school said the altercation between two students appeared to be isolated and the school is working with authorities to investigate the matter.

According to CBS Austin, the victim was identified as 18-year-old Darrin Loving, who was involved in the incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Manor Police Department said 18-year-old Mac Brown Mbah Mbanwei stabbed Loving in the chest.

Mbanwei was arrested, charged with murder and booked into the Travis County Jail without bail.

According to CBS Austin, paramedics arrived at the school around 12:47 a.m. and found the victim had died after a failed resuscitation attempt.

Manor ISD has canceled classes on Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31, at Manor Senior High School and Manor Early College High School.
