Why did Linda Napolitano fake an alien abduction?

Why did Linda Napolitano fake an alien abduction?

As a docuseries chronicling perhaps the most interesting and polarizing mystery in ufology, Netflix’s Manhattan Alien Abduction is like no other. That’s because it doesn’t just hang around Linda Napolitano claims that they were taken by extraterrestrials from her home in 1989, but also a skeptic’s analysis of whether it was all a hoax. The truth is that the former’s claims have always been a source of controversy, considering how her alleged initial experiences went before they became even stranger.

Linda Napolitano believes that aliens performed experiments on her

It was on the night of November 30, 1989, that everything turned upside down for New York housewife Linda when the strange feeling she had just before going to sleep became her nightmare. The former singer-turned-family man had a 150,000-volt stun gun on her bedside table for safety even though she was on the 12th floor of a Manhattan skyscraper, but it wasn’t enough. According to her, she got up when she realized she hadn’t looked behind the curtains before going to bed, but then she saw three gray bipedal creatures standing there.

Linda had long stated that she tried to move or make noise, but was paralyzed and carried by a beam of light to the spacecraft, where she was experimented on before being returned. Her testimony shows that until she visited the ufologist, she had little memory of what they were allegedly doing Elliot Budd Hopkins he hypnotized her after she contacted him with concerns. Eventually, she noticed a lump on her nose shortly after the incident, and a subsequent X-ray allegedly showed that something was indeed stuck in it.

What was even stranger to Linda was that when an ear, nose and throat specialist later examined her, he allegedly found the object was gone – only a buildup of cartilage remained, suggesting the possibility that something had been there recently. Moreover, while under hypnosis, the mother-of-two also reportedly realized that the alleged aliens were tracking specific people to continue their experiments. The fact that Budd Hopkins reportedly found 23 witnesses to Linda’s alleged first kidnapping was also a huge deal, especially since most of their claims supported Linda’s alleged levitation.

Linda Napolitano feared for her life for more than one reason

According to Linda, this was not the only case of her alleged abduction by aliens – once she was on vacation with her husband, and once with her younger son Johnny. Her records indicate that she was at the cabin with her husband to celebrate their anniversary, but she claims that she woke up the next morning in the middle of the nearby forest. Then, in the 1990s, she and her son were allegedly taken together and experimented on by aliens from the same Manhattan apartment, years after her initial reports.

Therefore, of course, Linda was afraid for herself and her family, because the only motives she could think of were rather negative, but this was made even worse by the fact that she believed she was being persecuted. This happened because shortly after her first confession was made public, two men posing as police officers showed up at her door to ask her questions about it. In fact, they introduced themselves as Richard and Dan, but she later discovered that, according to reports, they were only the diplomat’s bodyguards and had also witnessed the ordeal.

However, they were so intrigued by the case that they even allegedly wrote letters to Budd Hopkins to verify their existence, but then things took a drastic turn. According to Linds, Richard and Dan allegedly began observing her before abducting her in April 1991 for further interrogation and to determine whether she herself was an alien. Fortunately, she managed to escape, but she claims that Dan kidnapped her again in October of the same year, after which he went mad, but she managed to escape again and never saw the two again.

Linda Napolitano has stood by her claims for decades

Although Linda maintains that each of her claims is true, many believe that she invented her experiences as a long-running hoax simply to gain the world’s attention. She was also never ashamed to say that sometimes she would like to “fall into psychosis” because “at least it can be treated.” She even said in the docuseries that you would have to be either a sociopath or a genius to pull off this elaborate lie, but she is neither. As for why she believes she was kidnapped, she once said that maybe it was to get the attention of world leaders and steer them towards sustainable development. But unfortunately, since none of her claims can ever be verified, we can only assume that she lied to gain worldwide media attention and profit from it.
