Here’s what a yes or no vote on Question 2 means

Election Day is less than a week away.

The second question on the Massachusetts ballot is to eliminate MCAS as a high school graduation requirement.

The proposed law would eliminate the requirement that a student pass the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) tests (or other statewide or district-wide assessments) in math, science and technology, and English in order to receive a high school diploma.

VOTE YES would eliminate the requirement for students to pass the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) exam to graduate from high school, but would still require students to complete coursework that meets state standards.

DON’T VOICE would not make any changes to the law regarding the requirement to pass the MCAS exam to graduate from high school.
