A pedestrian has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Doncaster

The family of a 78-year-old man who died after being hit by a car have paid tribute to a “true gentleman”.

James Joseph Corrigan died in hospital on October 18 after being hit by a green Peugeot 308 on Bentley Road, Doncaster.

In a statement, his family said his great-grandfather was a professional boxer before becoming a famous performer in the city.

They said: “He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
