A case management hearing for a former Manatee County administrator has been postponed

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – A case management hearing for former Manatee County Administrator Scott Hopes has been pushed back to January of next year.

Hopes is accused of submitting incorrect timesheets in 2021 and 2022, which resulted in the county paying him thousands of dollars in overpayments.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office probable cause affidavit also alleges that Hopes forged and illegally notarized signatures on two documents settling the debts of three Manatee County residents and deleted official records from his county-issued work phone before resigning in February 2023

The State Attorney’s Office formally charged Hopes with three third-degree felonies.

Hopes’ case management hearing has been rescheduled to January 30, 2025.
