Spring Hill student hit by hit-and-run driver accused of running stop sign: FHP

SPRING HILL, FloridaState troopers are looking for a hit-and-run driver Hernando County teenager walking to school on Thursday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the unknown driver of a silver SUV was traveling westbound on Monarch Street around 8:30 a.m. when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Mariner Boulevard and struck a 16-year-old boy walking to a nearby high school.

After the collision, the police claim that the driver left the scene.

As a result of the accident, the teenager suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to an area hospital for medical care.
