DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Week 8: Daily Fantasy Football (2024)

Welcome back, RotoBallers! I hope you’re energized for the exciting Week 8 main event on DraftKings. With no bye weeks and no games in London, we have a jam-packed Week 8 schedule. Despite all these matchups on the board, I would argue that there are few truly “obvious” environments for guaranteed DFS fireworks. Add a few key injuries and we have all the hallmarks of a crazy Sunday full of action.

These DraftKings lineup recommendations are based on matchups, expected points and DK possession, overall upside/talent level and opportunity, as well as factors like Vegas odds, home court advantage and more. There are some great plays available at DK in Week 8.

DraftKings Quarterbacks – Week 8 DFS Picks

Jordan Love – GB at JAX ($7,100)

Fresh off 220 passing yards and three TDs against a stout Houston Texans defense in Week 7, Jordan Love is drawing a dream matchup against the Jaguars this week. To say that Jacksonville’s pass defense has been terrible is an understatement, as the Jags have allowed the most passing TDs in the NFL this season (16) and are giving up a solid 8.0 yards per pass attempt to opposing QBs.

This season, Love has showcased an elite DFS floor and ceiling combination. In none of his five starts in 2024, he has scored less than 17.0 DraftKings points, and in two of those five he has exceeded 25.0 DK points. The Packers are a great team, scoring 26.5 points overall in this matchup, and Love has the potential to put up game-winning stats against the Jags.

Bo Nix – CAR at the DEN ($5,600)

I certainly didn’t go into this week expecting Bo Nix to be in my crosshairs, but here we are, and I guess that’s what makes DFS so damn fun. While we’re unimpressed by the rookie’s game log, there are some basic things that pique my interest, particularly his underrated rushing ability.

Nix ranks fourth among NFL quarterbacks in rushing yards (255) and TDs (three). He has rushed for 60 or more yards in Denver’s last two games. In addition to Nix’s improving play, we also can’t ignore how truly terrible the Carolina defense he will face in Week 8 is. I’m saying I’m on the wrong historical trajectory.

The Panthers rank last in the NFL in points per game (34.7). This unit is one of only two defenses in the league that has allowed 14 or more passes for TDs and averaged over 8.0 yards per attempt against the opposing QB.

DraftKings Running Backs – Week 8 DFS Picks

Joe Mixon – IND at HOU ($7,700)

While there have undoubtedly been some injury issues, Mixon has been a beast when he’s been able to take the field for Texas. Houston’s offseason acquisition was everything they could have hoped for, as the 28-year-old rushed for over 100 yards in all three healthy games he played in 2024.

One of those performances came against the Colts in the season opener, where Mixon passed Indy for 159 yards on the ground. He should be successful again against a slumping Colts defense in Week 8, as Indianapolis entered this matchup allowing the third-fewest yards (876) in the NFL to opposing RBs this season.

Kareem Hunt – KC on LV ($6,300)

While Kareem Hunt may not be as explosive a player as he once was, the veteran has Andy Reid’s trust, giving Hunt complete control over the Kansas City defense. Since signing with the Chiefs off the street and earning 15 chances in his first lineup appearance in Week 4, Hunt has been the undisputed workhorse of this team.

In KC’s last two matches, he scored 28 and 24 touches, which translated into an average of 22 DK points in these contests. In Week 8, Hunt took a stab at the Raiders’ terrible defense, allowing the NFL’s third-most points per game (26.1) and an impressive 4.95 yards per carry to the running back position.

DraftKings Receivers – Week 8 DFS Picks

Drake London – ATL at TB ($7,200)

The hope in fantasy was that the addition of Kirk Cousins would unlock Drake London, a player most considered a talented player who found himself in a terrible situation last season. Well, mission accomplished.

Cousins constantly fed London with looks throughout the first half of the season. He enters Week 8 with third in the league in targets (62), receptions (44) and TDs (five), and second in red zone targets (12).

This week we will have an exciting matchup with the Bucs. London torched Tampa Bay’s secondary in Week 5, hitting 12 of 13 targets for 154 yards and a score. There’s no indication that Tampa will do any better this time around, as they’ve racked up seven TDs against opposing wings in the last four weeks.

Jalen McMillan – ATL at TB ($3,700)

On the other hand, the NFC South matchup features a Bucs receiving corps that was decimated by injuries in Monday night’s loss to the Ravens. Tampa Bay lost Chris Godwin for the season with a sprained ankle and Mike Evans for several weeks with hamstring issues.

Now this Bucs passing attack – which has been one of the most potent in the NFL this season – will utilize the combination of Jalen McMillan, Trey Palmer and Sterling Shepard in the absence of Godwin and Evans. I’m banking on rookie McMillan leading the way.

The University of Washington’s third-round pick has been the toast of Tampa Bay’s training camp this preseason and was targeted eight times in last week’s loss to the Ravens.

Taking on the WR1 role at the NFL level won’t be easy, but he could play some games against a Falcons secondary that ranks last in the NFL in catch rate (72.1%) allowed by opposing receivers.

DraftKings Tight Ends – Week 8 DFS Picks

Brock Bowers – KC on LV ($6,100)

I’m pretty sure Brock Bowers is the player I’ve written about most in this article over the first seven weeks of the season. So while I’m sorry if my love for the Raiders rookie causes me to read him regularly, I’m also not sorry because my job is to help you make your best plays, and Bowers has been the most productive player in the NFL this season this year . He leads all TEs in DraftKings targets, receptions, yards and points through Week 7.

I’m usually happy to avoid Kansas City’s tough defense, but the tight end defense has been this unit’s Achilles heel this year. The Chiefs have allowed the most DK points in the league per TE position and rank near the bottom of the NFL in almost every metric when it comes to defending tight ends.

With Davante Adams gone and no other legitimate offensive weapon available this week, Bowers should continue to be filled with targets.

David Njoku – CLE BALL ($5,100)

I’m sure Cleveland fans became massively depressed after Deshaun Watson missed the entire season. OK, seriously, the Browns will start Jameis Winston against the Ravens in Week 8, and while Winston is an interception machine, he should also add an outfield element that Cleveland didn’t have with Watson under center.

One of the biggest benefactors of Watson’s absence (besides Browns fans) should be David Njoku, who went into beast mode last season when Joe Flacco replaced the Browns.

Playing with three Cleveland quarterbacks last week, Njoku drew an absurd 14 targets, which he turned into a 10/76/1 stat line. With Amari Cooper currently in Buffalo and Jerry Jeudy largely ineffective, “The Chief” should serve as Cleveland’s de facto WR1 for the rest of the year.

He chooses to face a Ravens defense that isn’t what it used to be. Baltimore got burned by the TE position in 2024 and allowed three different tight ends to get to a season-high 90 yards against them.
