What’s the story?

17-year-old girl in New Delhi allegedly died by suicide after failing the Common Entrance Examination (HER) – the police reported on Saturday.

According to the authorities, a PCR report was received at 11:25 a.m. on Friday stating that a girl had jumped from the roof of the seventh floor of a building at the Main Market Square in Okhla.

The suicide note reveals academic pressures and unmet expectations

Police revealed that she left her parents a suicide note. In the note, she sought forgiveness for failing the JEE exam.

The note cited academic pressure and failure to meet expectations as reasons for her extreme step.

“A case under 194 BNSS is underway,” the Delhi Police said, adding that an investigation into the incident was underway.
