Madalyn Powell died in a wreck in Fayette County

FAYETTE CO., Ala. (WAFF) – Officials say a Florence woman was killed in a crash in Fayette County Friday morning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), at approximately 5:45 a.m., a single-vehicle accident occurred on Alabama 13 after a woman driving a 2009 Kia Rio left the roadway and struck a ditch.

Authorities identified the driver of the Kia as 28-year-old Madalyn G. Powell.

Authorities said Powell was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA is investigating the incident.
