Donald Trump appears for 3 hours on Joe Rogan’s podcast: Key Takeaways

Donald Trump appeared on “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Friday, giving the former president a platform through which he can speak directly to Rogan’s millions of listeners.

The nation’s most listened to podcaster pressed the former president on whether he was “totally committed” to inducting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to his administration.

“Oh, definitely yes,” Trump replied. “But the one thing I want to be a little careful about with him is the environment. Because he doesn’t like oil, I love oil and gas.”

He said he would tell Kennedy to “focus on your health and do whatever you want.” Trump said he faced pressure not to work with Kennedy, citing “Big Pharma” as an example.

Kennedy played a key role in spreading vaccine skepticism, rejecting the overwhelming consensus among scientists that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the rare risk of side effects.

He also claims that drug companies are conspiring to prevent health from improving because they make huge amounts of money selling drugs to people with chronic diseases.

Rogan is also skeptical of vaccines. Trump noted that they “came up with some amazing things,” such as the polio vaccine.

The lengthy interview, recorded in Austin, Texas, is the latest move by the Trump campaign engage younger voters through unconventional media channels. Rogan’s audience closely matches Trump’s target demographic of male voters under 45, making him an ideal fit for his campaign’s message.

Trump’s appearance comes just days before Election Day, and polls show a tight race. The interview, which lasted nearly three hours, marks a marked shift from traditional news outlets to podcasts and online platforms that Trump has prioritized reaching his core audience.

Trump’s interview with Rogan is part of a broader trend this campaign cycle in which presidential candidates are focusing on podcasts as a way to reach their target audiences. Unlike mainstream job interviews, podcasts allow candidates to have longer, unfiltered conversations with niche audiences.
