Nicholasville police are investigating the death by suicide of two people

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Nicholasville Police are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to police, officers were called to a home on Edwards Drive around 3 a.m. in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Isabella Mae Walsh dead from two gunshot wounds.

During the investigation, police identified Walsh’s boyfriend, 21-year-old Willy Milfort Jr., as the suspect. They then determined that he had fled the scene and gone to his family home on Winner’s Circle.

According to a news release, members of the Nicholasville Police Special Response Team obtained a warrant for Milfort’s arrest. As the team approached the house, Milford took his own life.

A police official says he wants to extend his condolences to the families and community members affected by the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
