“Inciting” suicide: constant turmoil ensues in the victim’s family

A day after the police registered a case against 10 people, including a retired DSP, SHO, an assistant sub-inspector and a woman constable, and six others for allegedly abetting suicide by a DC office worker, the victim’s family members started a dharna at the Minisecretariat, demanding the arrest of the accused on this matter.

The deceased was re-employed by the Haryana government in 2018. He was posted at the DC office in Hisar. According to the victim’s son, Pankaj, Raj Kumar died on October 23 after consuming celphos. The victim mentioned his statement in the DC Complaint Record before committing suicide, where he alleged that some cops were harassing him by registering a false case against him.

The victim has been identified as DSP Ashok Kumar (who retired two months ago), SHO Jagdish, ASI Phool Kumar and ASI Usha and six others for harassing him. The victim also spoke about the incident of molestation in her suicide note.
