FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Fresno Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in southeast Fresno.

The shooting happened Saturday evening near Platt Avenue and Eighth Street, just behind Jackson Elementary School.

In exclusive video obtained by Action News, at least a dozen shots can be heard flying through the air.

Police say one officer was shot but is expected to be OK.

The services did not provide any information about the status of the suspect involved in the shooting.

Roads around the intersection of Platt and Eighth are “closed for an extended period of time due to the investigation.”

An Action News crew is on the scene waiting for more information from Fresno Police.
