Arsenal makes a £100m bid for the Premier League’s record-breaking star

Arsenal have reportedly told Premier League rivals Newcastle United they are willing to pay £100m for Alexander Isak.

The Gunners were expected to invest in a new striker in the summer transfer window, with Mikel Arteta and Edu pushing hard to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

The 21-year-old Sesko decided to stay and sign a new contract at Leipzig, and Arsenal went through the rest of the summer transfer window without signing the striker.

The addition of Mikel Merino to midfield allowed Arteta to permanently use Kai Havertz as a striker and Gabriel Jesus as his understudy or partner, while Leandro Trossard was also tested in attack.

Arsenal are not struggling for goals this season, with Arteta’s men having scored 15 Premier League goals in eight games before Sunday’s clash with Liverpool.

But they are It has always been said that they lack a clinical centre-forward to get them over the line and score crucial goals in the title race.

And now reports from Spain say that Arsenal have “made a €120 million bid” for Newcastle striker Isak in a bid to “strengthen their attacking line in the next transfer window”.

Declan Rice joined the Gunners from West Ham in the summer of 2023 for £100m plus a further £5m in add-ons, but the report suggests Arsenal will need to break that record to get a deal for Isak over the line.

Star Arsenal, sold in the summer, could “play for any team in the world” with a “brilliant season” ahead.
According to legend, Arsenal “need” a Real Madrid star who can become an “absolute superstar”.

It is claimed that Arsenal are “willing to pay over €120m (£100m)” for the striker, with Isak being described as their “next signing”.

Arsenal boss Arteta and sporting director Edu “saw Isak as the perfect addition to their attack” and “the intention is not only to improve the quality of the squad, but also to inject a breath of fresh air into the team.”

It is understood that Arsenal “could make the most expensive transfer in the club’s history, while Newcastle would make history with the club’s most expensive sale.”

Isak still has plenty of time to make the most of his current deal at St James’ Park and Daily mail insists that Newcastle are not currently in talks over a potential new deal.

Earlier this week, the newspaper claimed:

Newcastle are not in contract talks with Alexander Isak and have no plans to enter into negotiations with the current contract lasting longer than three years, but this increases the chance of a summer transfer and will put Arsenal on alert.

“While there were initial discussions at the end of last season – when Isak scored 21 Premier League goals – there was a feeling that the striker and his camp were reluctant to engage with the matter.”
