Disturbing NFL predictions and picks for Week 12 (Chargers to beat Ravens in Harbaugh Bowl)

Disturbing NFL predictions and picks for Week 12 (Chargers to beat Ravens in Harbaugh Bowl)

Week 11 of the NFL season was another week where we saw several upsets across the league. The Colts, Steelers and Seahawks were the only underdogs able to pull off an upset victory over the course of 14 games. This led to the SI team having a difficult week picking weaker winners. Gilberto Manzano was the only one to correctly predict the upset as he led the Steelers to defeat the Ravens.

Let’s take a look at where everyone stands given their history of picking upset winners:

Time to move on to week 12. All courses listed below are via courses DraftKings Sportsbook.

Titans (+295) vs. Texans

I’m taking the Titans over the Texans because the Cowboys-Texans game was closer than it seemed and the Texas team is still struggling to get on offense and guard CJ Stroud. The Titans have a sneakily good defense and could finally get the standout play from Will Levis that gave them a stunning upset. Take it from me, a guy who has had one good season picking games in his entire life. – Conor Orr

Cardinals (-108) vs. Seahawks

Why are the Seahawks favorites in this game? Yes, they beat the San Francisco 49ers last week, but Seattle is 2-5 in their last seven games and has yet to show any consistency after losing an easy schedule earlier in the season.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are saying goodbye to the team and are playing great football, including a defense that hasn’t allowed a touchdown in three of the last four games.

The Seahawks are a decent team, but the Cardinals are good and have rest on their side. Give me Arizona. —Matt Verderame

Chargers (+114) vs. Ravens

I have to admit, it’s mostly a vibration choice. No one was higher on the Ravens than me this year. I picked them to win the Super Bowl before the season, then doubled down on them in ours Mid-season staff round table.

But part of me feels like this game is the only reason Jim Harbaugh returned to the NFL. He spent nine years at Michigan thinking not about winning the Super Bowl, but about beating his brother in a single football game. Like it’s the most important thing in the world to him and he’ll stop at nothing to beat the Ravens on this random Monday in November. —Mitch Goldich

49ers (+105) vs. Packers

Maybe I should start accepting that the 49ers are an average team dealing with the fatigue of long playoff runs. But it wasn’t too long ago that we watched Brock Purdy deliver an elite performance on the road against a tough Buccaneers team. Yes, the Bucks are not the Packers, but Jordan Love and his Packers have their flaws. Last week, Green Bay needed a blocked field goal to beat the Bears. I’ll take a desperate team with tons of star players. —Gilberto Manzano

Chargers (+114) vs. Ravens

The Chargers are hot after beating the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11 and have now won four straight games heading into their Week 12 home game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore is the favorite in this case, but the Ravens’ defense has been a problem all season long. They have allowed the sixth-most points and yards per game this season, and Justin Herbert and the Chargers have been playing offensively in recent weeks.

Don’t be surprised if the Chargers stop Baltimore at home. —Peter Dewey

49ers (+105) vs. Packers

No other team has scored more points in the final two minutes of their games than the 49ers, and they continue to pay the price for it. They lose games even though they largely outperform their opponents. For example, they still rank second in the NFL in net yards per play at +1.3, trailing only the Ravens (+1.5).

I have some concerns about the Packers. They are winning games, but Jordan Love is regressing after his 2023 success. He currently ranks 15th in the NFL in EPA+CPOE rating, behind the likes of Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and Kirk Cousins. He also ranks 17th in efficiency, which shows he was an average quarterback in 2024, which could prevent him from fielding a team like the 49ers. — Iain MacMillan
