According to a report published by ‘Hyderabad’, an inebriated man was arrested after he allegedly set fire to a petrol pump in Hyderabad, causing panic among people. NDTV citing officials.

According to the report, the incident took place around 7 p.m. when the accused, identified as Chiran, arrived at the gas station in an obviously drunken state. Holding a lighter in his hand, he was asked by one of the gas station attendants to light the device if he “had the courage” to do so.

Accused Chiran, who was provoked by the man, immediately lit the lighter, which resulted in a sudden burst of flames. CCTV footage of the entire incident is circulating on the Internet.

The footage also captured a woman and a child running through a narrow escape, terrified by what had happened. The duo, the main accused and the employee who provoked him, were arrested by the police and charged with mischief by fire and explosives.

The report shows that both the accused are from Bihar.

“This dangerous act not only put lives at risk but could have caused a catastrophic explosion, especially in this crowded place with heavy traffic,” said Inspector G Rudvir Kumar of Nacharam police, as quoted by NDTV.
