Tennessee Titans on the wrong side of history vs. Detroit Lions

Tennessee Titans on the wrong side of history vs. Detroit Lions

The Tennessee Titans are losing to the Detroit Lions by multiple points in Week 8, simply losing in all three phases of the game.

Of the three phases, the Titans were particularly bad on special teams, where they allowed the Lions to pull off a feat that hadn’t been seen in a very long time.

The Titans allowed a lot of big returns from specialist Kalif Raymond, who played at Tennessee from 2018-2020.

So far in four games, Raymond has thrown for 188 yards, which should be the most in the NFL this week. Moreover, Raymond also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Jared Goff midway through the third quarter to help Detroit extend its lead.

For three quarters Titans they actually outperformed the Lions. However, they are down by five touchdowns, mostly because the special teams were terrible today.

If the Titans want to turn the tide of the season and look competitive in the later games, they will need to clean things up in all three phases, especially on special teams.

Lions lead 52-14 late in the third quarter against Liverpool Titans.
