Nonsensical claims that students died due to clashes between students of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College, Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College today (November 25) according to Dhaka Police, 25 have been injured so far.

In a statement issued by DMP Deputy Commissioner of Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman, he said many people were spreading misinformation on social media saying that two students were killed, but it was not true.

He appealed to everyone to stay away from such disinformation.

Earlier, DMRC Managing Director Ashraf Samir in a press release stated that three students of the organization were killed in the clashes.

He also confirmed the matter when contacted by The Business Standard.

When contacted, DMRC administration official Obaidur Rahman Mollah told The Business Standard that he was not aware of any deaths.

“Many of our students and teachers were injured. Our director issued a press release, but it does not mention any loss of life,” he said.

At this time, police were unable to confirm whether any student was killed or not.
