Grandma died and grandpa was seriously injured in an ATV accident in Grayson County

GRAYSON COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – One woman died and two people were airlifted to the hospital after an ATV crash Sunday in Grayson County, according to the Grayson County Department of Emergency Services.

Emergency responders say crews received reports of a vehicle rollover shortly before 1 p.m. on Mourning Dove Lane in the Elk Creek area.

According to the rescue services, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man and a four-year-old girl were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Rescuers say two other children were at the scene but were not transported to the hospital.

According to firefighters, the woman is the children’s grandmother, and the injured man is their grandfather.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
