Teenager murdered in Stone Creek Court; the brother was charged

TOMBALL, TexasA 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in Tomball early Monday morning, and authorities say his older brother will face charges in the shooting.

Investigators say the teenager’s 17-year-old brother is currently in custody and faces charges of manslaughter or murder.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the preliminary charges, but more hearings must be held before formal charges can be filed.

The shooting occurred at a Stone Creek Court apartment building in 1990 around 3:30 a.m

According to the sheriff’s office, a total of six teenagers were in the home at the time and no adults were present. They were allegedly drinking and at one point a gun was pulled out.

Investigators say a short time later the gun discharged unintentionally, striking the 16-year-old in the chest. The sheriff’s office says the 17-year-old brother was holding a gun at the time.

Authorities say the teens attempted first aid and called 911. Unfortunately, the boy died at the scene.

It is unclear where they even obtained the weapons.

Authorities say the boy’s parents were attending to personal matters outside the home and it is unlikely they will face charges at this stage in connection with their son’s death.
