Minor boy dies in ‘mysterious circumstances’, body exhumed 14 days after death in Kendrapara

The minor boy’s body was exhumed on Monday, two weeks after his burial in Kendrapara. The incident took place at Deulasahi village under Rajkanika police station in Kendrapara district.

The deceased was the minor son of one Sujit Behura of the same village and was a Plus 2 student Kendrapara Adarsha Vidyalaya.

On the night of November 12, the body of a minor boy was found in mysterious circumstances. However, the family did not perform an autopsy and instead buried the body.

Later, after unlocking the minor’s cell phone, the family learned that the death was related to a failed romance. Moreover, the mother of the deceased also raised that there is a possibility of suicide in the case.

According to reports, the family discovered photos of the minor boy with an unidentified girl after unlocking the former’s phone. It was also suspected that telephone calls and messages were exchanged between them.

“I suspect that the girl’s behavior or something written in her phone calls or text messages may have prompted my son to take his own life. I demand justice and truth in the suicide case of my son,” said Rajashree Nayak, the mother of the deceased.

Due to this information, the deceased’s mother filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office Rajkanika police station.

In response to the allegations, Rajkanika police along with a scientific team and Kanika tehsildar visited the incident site yesterday. The body was exhumed and an autopsy was performed fourteen days after the incident.

“The body was exhumed from the cemetery and an autopsy was performed as per procedure. Rajkanika police have registered a case in this regard and are actively investigating it,” said Kanika tehsildar Ashok Kumar Dehuri.

However, no comments have been reported from the authorities so far Police on this matter.
