preliminary investigation suggests murder-suicide in north laredo apartment shooting

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The Laredo Police Department is releasing additional details about a shooting at a north Laredo apartment building, including possible findings.

Officers responded to a disturbance involving an armed person Sunday night around 8:30 p.m. in the 7600 block of Laguna Del Mar Court.

At the scene, officers found the door to one of the apartments open and found two women with gunshot wounds. Paramedics called to the scene found that one of the women was dead, while the other was taken to hospital, where she was ultimately pronounced dead.

According to the Laredo Police Department, initial investigation into the incident leads them to believe that the case most likely indicates a murder-suicide.

This marks the sixth homicide this year in Laredo and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Laredo Police Department is warning the community of an active fatality in north Laredo.

It was reported as an active crime scene around 9 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex at 7600 Laguna Del Mar Court.

We’re told two victims were taken to the hospital with gunshot injuries, but officials said an active death investigation was launched around 9:30 p.m.

They are asking people to avoid the area.
