Highlands County police are investigating after a man died in a shooting on a basketball court

AVON PARK in Florida – According to The Guardian, a man was shot on a basketball court on Monday evening Highlands County Sheriff’s office.

The incident happened shortly after 6:15 p.m. on Fred Conner Street in Avon Park, deputies said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to hospital but did not survive.

Investigators are speaking to “numerous” witnesses and following leads, according to the sheriff’s office.
