4 people arrested after another crash involving an allegedly stolen vehicle in Toronto

Police in Ontario are investigating after another collision in Toronto involving an allegedly stolen vehicle left four people injured.

The accident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Brimley Road in Scarborough.

According to the police, four people were taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Four people were also detained, although on Tuesday a police spokesman was unable to say whether those arrested included any of the people taken to hospital.

According to the police, one of the two vehicles involved in the collision was stolen.

Photos from the scene show that one of the vehicles had a crushed front and the other had significant rear damage.

A TTC bus shelter was also damaged.

A police spokesman said there was no pursuit at the time of the crash.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) invoked its mandate. More information is expected this morning.

The SIU is an independent agency that investigates police responses to incidents resulting in death, serious injury, gunshots or allegations of sexual assault.

The disaster occurred just a week after nine people were injured in an accident allegedly stolen BMW crashed into a TTC bus in North York.

In connection with this collision, three people were charged with housebreaking and car theft.
