Man released on bail after car shooting in Ladbroke Grove, which left an eight-year-old girl seriously injured | UK news

A 22-year-old man has been released on bail in connection with a shooting in west London that seriously injured an eight-year-old girl and her father.

Witnesses described the attacker opening fire directly into a car during the incident on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove just after 5.30pm on Sunday.

The eight-year-old girl underwent surgery on Monday and her condition is currently stable. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Her 34-year-old father suffered life-changing injuries, but the two-year-old child and the 32-year-old woman were unharmed.

Sky News understands all the victims are from the same family.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, but the Met Police said he was bailed until February pending further inquiries.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances and motive.

Chief Superintendent Owen Renowden called the shooting “a horrific incident which left two people seriously injured.”

He said: “Our local policing teams will continue to be present in the coming days and we are working closely with our partners to provide additional security.”
