“To encourage safe celebrations,” overnight street parking is permitted in Willoughby on Wednesday

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (WOIO) – With the day before Thanksgiving typically one of the busiest nights of the year for bars and restaurants, Willoughby police are taking steps to encourage safe celebrations.

Officers will not enforce the city’s overnight parking regulations, so drivers will be able to leave their vehicles in a public parking lot or on a city street.

“Enjoy your friends and family, visit our unique venues, be responsible and PLEASE DO NOT DRINK or DRIVE,” Willoughby Police wrote on Facebook.

Officers will enforce other parking violations.
