Netflix releases the trailer for the Summer Hikaru Died anime

Still in May 2024we found out there would be Summer Hikaru has died anime adaptation, and now there’s a trailer for the Netflix series. However, while this and the key art are available now, there is still no release window for them yet. The announcement only said “coming soon.” Summer 2025. Appears after the release of the fifth volume manga AND amendment.

Here’s the first trailer Summer Hikaru has died anime adaptation. For the first time we can hear Chiaki Kobayashi as Yoshiki Tsujinaka and Shuichiro Umeda as “Hikaru”. It begins the same as in the manga, with Yoshiki and Hikaru talking about the future outside a store. Yoshiki then mentions the fact that the “Hikaru” next to him is not actually the Hikaru he knew.

When it comes to newest piece of the key graphics, depicts “Hikaru” and indicates the nature of the character:

The last volume of the manga that was released is the fourth one and that’s it appeared in August 2024. The series is still airing in Japan. The fifth part will be released in English on March 25, 2025. It tells the story of what happens when a young man named Hikaru is replaced by a being that is not him, and what follows the relationship between “Hikaru” and Yoshiki. However, the town around them is affected by the fact that a non-human creature suddenly lives among them.

Summer Hikaru has died the manga is published in Japan with English release by Yen Press, and the anime will air on Netflix in summer 2025.
