The granddaughter of the late Reverend Billy Graham recently wrote: article in Newsweek endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris and accusing former President Donald Trump of being a “megalomaniac.”

“As someone who enjoyed the privilege of growing up surrounded by the respected minister Dr. Billy Graham – or as we knew him, his grandchildren, “Daddy Bill” – I fail to see in former President Donald Trump the Christian faith that inspired my life,” Jerushah wrote Duford, whose mother, Virginia “Gigi” Graham Tchividjian, is Graham’s eldest daughter.

Duford’s opinion received praise with an X from figures such as Kellyanne Conway’s husband, George Conway, who co-founded the Lincoln Project. John Weaver, who also founded an anti-Trump organization, stepped down from office in 2021 after 21 men accused him of online sexual harassment, according to The Times. New York Times.

Duford, whom website describes her as an “LGBTQ+ friendly” licensed professional counselor in Greenville, South Carolina connections with the Lincoln Project and has been outspoken against Trump for years.

“Trump’s words and actions are fundamentally inconsistent with evangelical principles,” Duford also wrote in Newsweek. “Contrary to anyone who claims to be anointed by God to be a leader; Trump cannot restore US allegiance.”

“Unfortunately, by accepting such a megalomaniac, Christians turn away from those who are curious about the Lord. We lose credibility when we say that God is love, but then we unite and sometimes even rebel to support a person whose entire worldview is centered on himself,” she said.

In op. in 2020she supported President Joe Biden and urged Christian women to reject him, claiming that “the church honors Trump before God.”

She also made headlines in August when she appeared in a pre-recorded message on an “Evangelicals for Harris” Zoom call during which she quoted Scripture to suggest that Trump supporters were under God’s judgment and were turning people away from Christianity.

“For me, voting for Kamala is much more important than politics,” Duford said during a Zoom call for a political action committee. “It is a vote against four more years of faith leaders justifying the actions of a man who is destroying the message Jesus came to spread.”

Although she did not mention him in her Newsweek article, Duford’s political stance stands in stark contrast to that of her uncle Franklin Graham, who is Billy Graham’s oldest son and an outspoken Trump supporter.

Earlier this month, Duford publicly accused Graham of abandoning his older sister in western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene so he could meet with Trump to investigate storm damage in Valdosta, Georgia.

“I’m glad he had the time and resources to fly to Georgia just to stand with Trump. While his 79-year-old sister, my mother, was trapped without food or water” – Duford he wrote in a post from October 1 on X.

Gigi Graham has another house in Florida.

Days after meeting Trump in Georgia, Franklin Graham spoke to CP from western North Carolina, where he said his home in Boone remains without power and relies on a generator.
