JNU Admissions 2024-25: Registration for PhD Programs Starts, Check Details

According to the schedule, the deadline for submitting applications for doctoral studies is December 2, 2024. Candidates will be able to make corrections in the application forms between December 3 and 4, 2024.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has started accepting applications for PhD programs for the academic year 2024-25. Candidates should note that recruitment will be conducted through NET, (UGC-CSIR), JRF and GATE. Interested candidates can apply for admission to various PhD programs through the official website at jnuee.jnu.ac.in. According to the schedule, the deadline for submitting applications for doctoral studies is December 2, 2024. Candidates will be able to make corrections in the application forms between December 3 and 4, 2024.

In an official notification, the university encouraged candidates to read the electronic PhD prospectus available on the university’s website and check their eligibility, seat availability and other facts before applying online. Further, candidates must independently apply for admission through NET (UGC-CSIR), JRF or GATE (for School of Engineering only).

JNU PhD Courses 2024-25: Full Schedule

– Submitting an application for admission online: from November 23 to December 2, 2024.

– Correction of data in the online application form only on the website: December 3 and 4, 2024

– Invitation to viva voce for the candidate: December 12, 2024 (provisional)

– Conducting the viva-voce exam: December 16–21, 2024 (Tentatively)

– Publication of the first merit lists for admission to doctoral programs: December 30, 2024 (preliminary)

– Pre-registration and payment of the fee along with blocking places on the 1st list: – December 30, 2024 to January 1, 2025 (Tentatively).

– Publication of the 2nd List of Merit for admission to doctoral programs: January 8, 2025 (preliminary)

– Pre-registration and payment of the fee with blocking of places on the 2nd list: January 8-10, 2025 (tentatively)

– Physical verification of admission/registration of selected candidates: January 13-16, 2025.

– Publication of third/final post-registration list if deemed necessary: January 24, 2025 (provisional)

– Pre-registration and payment of the fee with blocking of places on the third/final list: January 24-26, 2025 (Tentatively)

– Physical verification of admission/registration to the third/final list of shortlisted candidates: January 28 and 28, 2025.

– Deadline for admission/registration: February 5, 2025.

The candidate’s invitation to participate in the viva voce program will initially be sent by December 12, 2024, and the viva voce test will most likely take place between December 16 and 21, 2024. The announcement of the first ranking list is scheduled for December 30, 2024.
