The family of a 25-year-old Air India pilot who died by suicide has accused the boyfriend of committing suicide

On Monday, November 25, a 25-year-old young Air India pilot allegedly committed suicide in Marol, Andheri. However, on charges of abetting his girlfriend’s suicide, the Powai Police in Mumbai arrested a Delhi-based man, Aditya Pandit, on Tuesday, November 27.

The woman’s family living in Gorakhpur reported the matter Indian Express that they suspected that the accused killed her and tried to present it as a suicide. They accused him of abusing her in public places and stopping her from eating non-vegetarian food. The family has urged the Mumbai Police to thoroughly investigate the case.

According to the police, Tuli was found dead in a rented flat behind the Marol police camp in Andheri (East) early on Monday morning. Preliminary investigations revealed that, according to the police, she was suffering from mental disorders due to harassment from Pandit. Pandit was preparing for the pilot examination but failed to qualify, they added.

Preliminary survey

Initial police investigation revealed that when Tuli returned home after work on Sunday, she had an argument with Pandit, who had been visiting her frequently lately. According to reports, Pandit left for Delhi around 1 am. Tuli called him on his phone and allegedly revealed that she was going to take an extreme step.

According to police, Pandit then returned to her apartment but found the door locked from inside. Officers said he called the key duplicator, opened the room and found her unresponsive.

Pandit rushed her to Seven Hills Hospital in Marol, where Tula was pronounced dead. The family and police were soon notified.

Jitendra Sonawane, senior inspector of Powai police station, said they had arrested Pandit under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint lodged by Tuli’s family. “On Tuesday, he was brought to court and placed in police custody for four days,” the inspector said, as reported by the website Indian Express.

“The autopsy report indicates that the cause of death was suicide. We sent the woman’s blocked phone to the crime lab to analyze her conversations with the accused. We will soon record statements from her family members, close friends, colleagues and roommates,” Sonawane added.
