Jennifer Aniston remembers Matthew Perry a year after his sudden death.

“1 year “, actress, 55, – she signed the post on Instagram on Monday, October 28. She posted four photos of Perry, one of which featured the entire Friends cast. Aniston also tagged the Matthew Perry Foundation.

Perry died on October 28, 2023 at the age of 54 due to “acute effects of ketamine”. A toxicology report has been published in December 2023, he cited drowning (Perry was found unconscious in a hot tub), coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine as contributing factors to his death.

Two weeks after Aniston’s death, she was second Friends cast member to share your tribute on social media until the late star. (Perry and Aniston starred together on the long-running comedy series Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc AND David Schwimmer from 1994 to 2004)

She posted a throwback photo and a string of text messages between them that she hopes to keep “forever.”

“Matty KNEW he loved making people laugh. As he himself said, if he didn’t hear the ‘laughter,’ he thought he was going to die,” Aniston continued in the post. “His life literally depended on it. And boy, did he do just that. He made us all laugh. And laugh hard.”

Although Perry’s death was ruled accidental in January, the case was solved it has since reopened. Since then, five people have been charged in connection with the actor’s death.

Perry’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death and named Perry’s friend Erik Fleming pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine resulting in death. Dr. Mark Chavez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine. All three were cooperating with the investigation to Perry’s death in exchange for a lesser charge.

Doctor Salvador Plasencia AND Jasveen Sangha (also known as the “Ketamine Queen”) pleaded not guilty to charges including conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine.
