Four people have died in a car fire following a crash in Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. (KKTV) – Four people died over the weekend in suburban Denver after being trapped in a burning car.

The fatal collision occurred Saturday evening at the intersection of Thornton Parkway and Washington Street in Thornton.

Sister station CBS Denver, citing Thornton police, reports that at the intersection one vehicle hit another and the one that was hit burst into flames. Four passengers failed to escape and all died on the spot.

The second driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. No information about their condition was provided as of Monday morning.
