Three people died in a fatal head-on collision in Frederick County

FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – Three people are dead following a head-on collision between two vehicles in Frederick County on Sunday afternoon. Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that occurred at 1:42 p.m. near the intersection of Wardensville Pike and Bushy Ridge Drive.

Donald R. Mallow Jr., 60, of Fredericksburg, was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck westbound on Wardensville Pike when he crossed the double solid yellow center line and collided head-on with a 2019 Buick Encore Essence small SUV ., according to VSP.

Mallow suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Winchester Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. According to VSP, he was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Buick, Diana J. Harman, 60, of Petersburg, West Virginia, died at the scene. According to VSP, she was wearing a seat belt.

Patricia A. Gapp, 85, of Fisher, West Virginia, was a passenger in the Buick and also died at the scene. According to VSP, she was wearing a seat belt.

VSP continues to investigate the crash.
