Akron Public Schools employee placed on leave after ‘inappropriate social media post’

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – An Akron Public Schools employee has been placed on administrative leave following a social media post, according to a statement released by Akron Public Schools on Monday afternoon

Akron Public Schools said it became aware of an “inappropriate social media post regarding an employee” on Sunday evening.

The release says the county took immediate action by placing the employee on leave and “notifying the appropriate authorities.”

When 19 News asked Akron police about the situation, they were not aware of any charges or warrants against the Akron Public Schools employee.

Parents at Garfield Community Learning Center received an email Monday morning repeating Akron Public Schools’ statement about acting quickly and caring for the well-being of students.
